Started with a Caspian frame and slide that had to be fit then the rest of the parts. I used Ed Brown parts except the barrel I used a Nowlin drop in barrel I normally use a Kart gunsmith fit for my bullseye guns but this is going to be a EDC so I thought I'd give one a try other than the bushing it fit perfect with tight lock up and great lug engagement at .042 thou.
The grip safety took a lot of time to fit correctly and blend.
I did the stippling on the front strap and horizontal checkering on the back of the slide. I also did a nice softening of all the sharp corners.
The Kensight adjustable tritium sights will be here soon then it's off to test fire. I am planning on having the gun matte hard chromed.

Nice build.
I too am a 1911 fanatic.
Thanks, I really like the way this is coming out, I just finished tweaking the trigger it's 4-1/2 lbs measured with the NRA official weights. I may bring it down after completion but it feels like a 3lb trigger at the moment.
I'm a trigger fanatic after getting into Bullseye shooting I have to have them just right no creep at all and crisp.
Can't wait to shoot it on Monday!!

Dropped off the frame and slide yesterday for nitride finish I changed my mind about the hard chrome. I polished all the SS parts to a high luster finish it should look pretty good with the contrast. It will be ready for pickup on Friday pretty anxious to see the final product.
By the way I shot it a bunch last week it was extremely accurate out to 25 yards off the bench even though it will be a EDC type of gun. I was shooting a 185 JHP over 6.0 231 it was pleasant to shoot.
I bought a bunch of wolff springs to tune it when I get it dialed in probably will put it in the ransom rest to see what she can do out to the 50 yard mark.
Send pics when it's back together next week.

I ended up stripping the whole gun down last night and did a polish job it looks much more even now.i know the guy did not bead blast the entire gun like he should have but I am not going to make them redo the finish it is a EDC and I like it enough now. The rags I used actually were completely brown as I was polishing anyhow it is much better.
