The carry position I swore I'd never try and now use every day

Strong side IWB had been home for years and I'd written off the idea of switching to anything else before I'd even really considered it. Then a training instructor suggested 4 o'clock might actually suit my body type and the way I move through a day better, and I pushed back on it, mostly out of habit more than any real reasoning.

I only tried it for a week to be polite, expecting to quietly switch back once I'd proven my point. Instead, the comfort difference on a long day turned out to be significant enough that I never actually went back. So if there's a lesson buried in this, it's that it's worth actually trying positions before dismissing them outright because your body type might genuinely prefer something you've never given a real chance.

Is there a setup you've already written off without ever actually trying it for yourself?

A lot of folks lock into a setup early and never revisit it, even though small changes in position or belt can make a big difference once you actually test them over time.

I use a cross draw with a Colt King Cobra snubbie when driving and a horizontal shoulder holster with a Bodyguard 2.0 for normal carry. I have also a couple of competition Ghost holsters. but the aren't for comfort.

I struggled with appendix carry for two years, then tried 4 o’clock on a whim and my back thanked me. Body type really matters, no one tells you that.
