Hello all,
I was drawn for 6A ML bull hunt mid November.
I have what I believe a fantastic area to hunt that I was steered to by a great person!
Problem is I have no one to come along.. (small chance my ex bro in law will come for a couple days but he's so busy that i'm just not feelin it.)
Is there anyone on here that is in the same boat as me?
I'm 62 and I really don't want to do this alone.. I waited 8 years for this tag and i'm not going to let it pass.
I'm going whether it be alone with my Inreach SAT or maybe a new found friend here.
Odd to be asking a stranger to go on a week long hunt.. So if your interested let me know. We could maybe go to my range (Phoenix gun club) and shoot a bit and get acquainted?
Hey even if you don't have a tag and want to join for some camaraderie and a share of the meat.. I am open to ideas.
Wish me luck!
PS. I have a 19' Travel trailer.

I'll be up on my dad's hunt same time . I play driver and guide. We've done quite well on this hunt . I usually shoot outa rio salado . And we have some productive spots out around the 229 road and a ways in there. My dad's in his mid 70s and plays gourmet chef at camp . We'll be up the Monday before the hunt and he's staying for the whole hunt . There's plenty of room where we camp .

Try the Rattlesnake areas. It's a wilderness area close to Apache Maid. Could be some big bulls there. Many other areas but they tend to be nocturnal so early am and late pm. Big plus if you can locate bedding areas.

Thank you Bob! The area i'm starting out on is pretty well off the beaten path.. I'll try anything doable.

You know another option is to get a guide to help you out some will even just help get your elk out for you call some and talk to them.

Yes I looked into a guide but i'm old school and stuck on doing my own hunting..More satisfying to me if you know what I mean..
I more just want good company I think..and some help if i'm successful. It's just no fun alone anymore.
No one to high five or laugh with or tell stories by the fire..make memories. uh oh i'm getting all melancholy hahahaa but true.

Same here but for possibly your last elk hunt you want to be successful and not waste any meat.
I hunt alone as well and keep getting the game out in my mind before I pull the trigger. If I was retired I'd go with you !

I've got a s x s and have never not been able to get to a down elk with it . We gut and load out whole . Back at camp we skin out and finish work for the processer

lol I hear ya! That's when then work really starts! a downed Elk. I've always done my own processing start to finish..Many Deer and my one and only Huge Cow 15 years ago so I know what's involved first hand for sure.. But I'm not the man I used to be and it sucks! I'm gonna make the best of it. My bro in law just told me he's gonna come God willing. It's the "God willing" part that i'm worried about if you know what I mean. All you guys are great by the way! I appreciate you. :)
