How do you gear up for hunting season in the summer?

Summer can drag on a bit when you’re waiting for hunting season to kick in, but I try to make the most of it by sorting through my gear and checking my trail cams. I stay active to keep my fitness up, but I gotta admit I still slack off sometimes; I’m curious how everyone else tackles their summer prep and if they scout new spots or just chill until the season nears.

I usually spend summer double-checking gear, cleaning firearms, and reviewing trail cam footage. It keeps me busy, but I'll admit I sometimes just kick back for a day or two

I just start reloading enough for any upcoming hunts. I have a separate shop with a/c. I don’t shoot in the summer. Most times all outdoor places I shoot at are shut down for fire season anyway. I start studying maps and looking at precipitation over the last year. I’ll scout early September and up to hunting time looking for sign, water and animals. I only have deer this year but will be assisting other friends during archery elk.
