How do you store bulk ammo long-term without issues?

I've started stocking up on ammo more than usual, and now I'm wondering about the best way to keep it safe long-term. Do you guys stick with ammo cans and desiccants, or something else? I'd like to hear what's worked for you to avoid moisture, corrosion, or reliability problems down the road

I keep most of my ammo in sealed ammo cans with desiccant packs, it works well for long-term storage. I also rotate older rounds to the front

Yeah, that's good advice. Ammo cans with desiccants are the way to go, and rotating older rounds keeps everything fresh. Do you label yours by date or just eyeball it when rotating?

Do you label yours by date or just eyeball it when rotating? If still in 500 rd boxes, I label. If 50 rd boxes on a shelf, piece of masking tape on the shelf labeled. Yes...I am a bit OCD...

Do you notice much difference in longevity compared to just ammo cans? Never compared the 2 ways (I did MTM boxes with small desiccant packs before). Main reason for a safe was keeping it all in one place with easy access and fire damage concerns.
