With our community growing every day, I’d love to collect some of the shared experiences we have.

For our seasoned owners and collectors, what advice would you offer your younger self when you first began this journey? Share your insights on storage methods, reliable sites, auctions, or anything else you wish you had known sooner.

If I could rewind and give my younger self one key piece of advice, it would be to slow down and make sensible purchases instead of impulsive buying. A lot of what I bought back then was driven by impulse, and I ended up selling most of it off. Right now, the stuff I still treasure are the ones I really took my time to choose.

I would tell my younger self to seek out advice from seasoned gun owners, and get the best training available to me.
Thirty six years in LE afforded me the training aspect which I am grateful for. However, like Sauer said, I wish that I had been less impulsive in my younger self years.

Agree with the statements above about being less impulsive. I don’t know how many times I bought something only to sell it a month or two later.
I do like calibers that are not as mainstream, but that also means more $$ on ammo. .41 mag, .357 Sig, 25-25
