What Is Your Favorite Shooting Range?

I am all about shotguns. I like the Ben Avery Clay Target range. Good variants of clay shooting. Excellent staff, amenities, and solid ranges.
I've never shot at Ben Avery. I did go there once to watch a Sporting Clays shoot. I'd like to team up with someone and give it s shot. I live in Sierra Vista and have a SXS if I need to bring it. Let me know if you want to team up. I shoot mostly Trap & Skeet. Shot a lot of sporting clay in the past over at Double Adobe RV park and shooting range. But too many mechanical issues with his equipment and too many people on a squad. I like to squad with about 5, not 10

I believe I shot at that range about 33 or 34 years ago, mid 80's. My dad took me to the NRA Silhouette Smallbore State Shooting Championship, it was a lot of fun.

Every summer we usually stop at the Pinon Cafe when we pass by on our way to, or back from Woods Canyon lake.
Pinion Cafe is great. You might also like the Crosswinds up at the airport. Great views of the Rim.
The range has .22 silhouette matches now. You can check out their website for times and dates if you're interested.

Who wants to hook up and make a trip to shoot some Sporting clays in Tucson or Phoenix. It's been a long time since I've shot S. Clays. I have a side X side but only a two person unless you sit on the tail gate. Hit me up if interested and maybe we can get a small group together and meet up at one of the places Tucson, Ben Avery, or Rio Salado.

Thanks for the update, I'll look in to it and get my family up there for a match or two.

We'll definitely try the Crosswinds next time, thanks for the tip. We are always looking for the small town restaurants.

I would like to do some shooting before early dove season. I'm busy this weekend, but would be willing the following weekend or whenever you're planning on being in North Phoenix. The ranges at Ben Avery are all within easy walking distance, so you wouldn't need anything other than a regular car to get there.

I'm in!

Phx Rod and Gun. Used to drive down to Casa Grande, but too far and too many yahoos. Dont like the power hungry range nazis at Rio. Would like to find a good place I could set up targets out to 700 and maybe 1000 yards. Im a native Arizonan, but now Im in my 60s, these summer temps are too much.

When I went to watch my bil shoot sporting clays at BA, we had his cart. I know it is too much walking for me and my friend Michael from vail. The ages is 65 & 74, Besides the Phx heat, I'd never survive the walking around that course. Send me a PM if you cane with your phone number and will see if we can get a small squad together.
