Based on what manufacturers have been showcasing recently, are we actually getting real performance enhancements in pistols or are they just giving us some minor cosmetic updates?

I haven't seen anything that gets my heart rate up. Same old same old. I tend to hit up gun stores and Pawn shops looking for older models. Most new guns aren't really!

It feels like we’re in a period of now with a slightly improved grip. I don’t mind, but I’m not rushing out to buy one. Most duty guns work just fine as is. The rest is just tuning.

The one I find myself carrying most often now is a Kimber CDs9, no rail, 9mm. It has a manual safety, which I like, and is small, easy to carry, and shoots just fine. I use iron sights on a defensive pistol and the sights on this Kimber are perfectly okay. Nothing fancy or real expensive. It just works.

Same here! Found an old 3-screw single six, a S&W 5904 and a couple of Stars.

When I was younger, I wanted all the latest and greatest things to come out. It never made me shoot any better. I think there are a lot of good guns out there. Sometimes I wonder if the manufactures bring out new versions just to sell more.
